Welcome to the Leadership Recognition Program
The office of Student Organizations & Leadership welcomes you to the Leadership Recognition Program (LRP). Student Organizations & Leadership is collaborating with students, staff and faculty to design the LRP as a pilot program that encourages student engagement, leadership and development by introducing students to a number of involvement opportunities, events, and workshops. Your participation and the valuable feedback you provide will help shape the future of leadership development programs for the entire Sacramento State community.
The LRP is comprised of dozens of on and off campus events throughout the semester. These events are divided into five categories that encourage a breadth of experiences through Appreciating Diversity, Hornet Pride, Leadership Development, Professional Development and Service.
Your mission, as a participant in the LRP, is to attend a certain number of events designated by your course instructor. Since there is more than one course participating in the LRP, requirements vary. However, if you are interested in attaining a Student Organizations & Leadership Certificate, you must complete one event from each category for a Green Student Organizations & Leadership Certificate and an additional three events to attain a Gold Student Organizations & Leadership Certificate.
Additionally, you will be able to submit unlisted events for LRP credit. However, an unlisted event must be submitted for approval NO LESS THAN one week prior to the event taking place and you must receive approval from the LRP coordinator in order to attend that event for credit.
We expect that you will run into some challenges along the way and that's ok because this is a pilot program. We welcome all critical and complimentary feedback in order to improve this effort. However, you will still be expected to complete the LRP by Friday, April 30, 2010 in order to be eligible for course credit and/or a Certificate.
